About Patrick Piazza

Patrick has been teaching dancing throughout the South Shore area since 1992. Many people ask him how he got into dancing or how he learned to dance. He tells them that it was much like Patrick Swayze's character in Dirty Dancing; they both answered advertisements for "dance instructors wanted, willing to train."

Before becoming an instructor, Patrick graduated from college with a degree in Visual Arts. In pursuing a career in the arts, Patrick found dancing to be the perfect choice. Although he always had a love for dance, Patrick became more intrigued with dancing when he received a phone call from a dance studio offering "free lessons." With his sister, Joanne, as a partner, Patrick took the free lessons. It was the ultimate experience for both of them! It brought back childhood memories of watching old movies of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers with their parents. Patrick wished that he could dance, and with the same smoothness, grace, and elegance. Years later, Patrick answered an advertisement searching for dance instructors from that very same studio that had offered him free lessons. This was the beginning of Patrick's career as an instructor.

Today, Patrick shares with his students the joy, confidence and positive self-esteem that dancing has brought to him. Dance has been a journey that has introduced him to many wonderful and interesting people over the years. Patrick hopes to meet you soon so that you can enjoy everything that dancing has to offer!
